Have seen that some people download anit-virus sfotware. I bought mine (McAfee) awhile ago. When my subscription for the year runs out - can I still get updates as they come out?

Do you get updates on Norton?

Nope, no more updates, thats why you pay a subscription price. Download AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm) it's free all the time, updates and all.

Some anti-virus programs let you continue getting updates if you simply reinstall the program. I know that's the case with Panda. I've heard it works with Norton as well.

Reinstalling works only a couple times with Norton. If the get old enough (2 years old) it won't update them anymore and it asks you to d/l (and buy) the updated version of the program. After while it got realyy frustrating so i switched to AVG.

dude, use anyone of the many file sharing programs listed here to get the latest software.

I use NAV 2003 and the buscription doesn't end till like sometime in late 2003

but i have a special situation, i normally format at least once a year, for a while as often as once a month, so subscripions for NAV aren't a big problem
