An update has been posted on exeem.com:

"07.02.2005 - eXeem reaches 1,000,000 downloads
eXeem has been downloaded 1,000,000 times! This makes eXeem one of the fastest growing P2P programs even if its still in the Beta Testing Phase!
We are still working on the update for eXeem and we will hopefully release it the next few days. The update will feature bug fixes, added new features and a change in how it serves ads to users."

Interesting - what kind of change?

With all the protests about cydoor it would be prudent for them to serve ads on a browser page in the aplication Hope they put in a cydoor removal tool if they do this .for the newbs who dont have a clue what cydoor even is .

We can only hope. Of course, removing cydoor isn't going to shut the anti-exeem crowd up for very long. They'll just move their self-serving whining over to the Closed Source area. :ass

Well thier self serving whining can easilly be fixed by them releasing thier own Exeem like projects where they can use Kenosis (http://kenosis.sourceforge.net/) , trackerBT (http://www.alhem.net/project/trackerbt/) and many other open source Bittorent source codes as a base. If they want to actually protect the user they can use I2P (http://www.i2p.net/) and its Bittorent implimentions like this Azureus Plugin (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/plugin_details.php?plugin=azneti2p)

1,000,000 are using a sucky ass program.

no people 1.000.000.000 downloaded it then realised it had adware/spyware (cydoor does place a numerical identifier on your computer) and deleted it then there are all the users that have exlite and the other 'lite' versions that try and block some cydoor URLs and others they rewite your hosts file .

So thier may be 1,000,000 downloads but only a user base of 20,000 at this current time .

I have downloaded it as least three times but never installed it. Tried out the lite version instead.

20,000 users sounds about right.

I used the lite version for a couple of days. It wasn't bad... plenty of hits. Then my infringement notice letter showed up. It wasn't from using eXeem, but lately I just don't feel like throwing my IP out there.
So it's newsgroups for me.
