Hello guys. I'm new (just signed up) and it's great to be here.
To get my story started we have to go back. Before I got my new computer (one that totally rapes the old one), Shareaza was my best bet for downloading, even over Kazaa Lite K++. It's download ratio wasn't nearly as high as Kazaa Lite K++, but back then KLK was a system resource hog and didn't get a quarter as many results as Shareaza.
Now, on my new computer (my old one was 5 years old mind you), there's a lot of stuff that can be done. I have 4 P2P programs right now: Shareaza, Limewire, Ares, and KLK++ (I operate each of them sparingly). Of all them, Shareaza is the prettiest and has the friendliest user interface by far, but is now only worth the occasional music download that I can't seem to get anywhere else. KLK++ (no longer a hog) alone gets a lot more stuff than Shareaza now.
So, I'm looking to probably restore Shareaza into competition with these other 3 programs. I've run the wizard so that all my settings are at their defaults, and broadbandreports.com says that my download speed is 150.7 KB/s, while my upload speed is 38.6 KB/s.
I don't know all of the problems and settings, but I can tell you one possible one: People seem to be cutting off the balls of my download before it's even finished; I was downloading a video, and people were downloading the partial download I had just mere minutes after I started. I think that's a problem. It doesn't seem to go away no matter what I do with the settings.
