I'm running Xp.Got up this morning to defrag hd. I got an error message:
ScanFat:Scan aborted-Fatal error-
File:\\?\C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.exe-2D1A70b3.pf
Hhhhmmmmmm...
So, I ran Microsoft Antispyware, Spybot, PestPatrol, AVG, ScriptDefender, SpySweep...Nothing.
I tried to open my music program FruityLoops...got this:
FL.exe-Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx is not a valid image. Please check this against your installation disk.
So, I went to prefetch and tried to open "HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" and got this:
Cannot open the "C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" file. Make sure a disk is in the drive you specified."
"The file or directory "C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" is corrupt & unreadable.
Please run chkdsk."
I ran checkdisk....found a few errors and corrected them.
Went back to the defragger and it goes right back to the same problem.
I googled "HH.EXE" and "hhctrl.ocx " and really didn't come up with a proper solution.
Any inputs???
Thanks in advanced.
BTW...I used FruityLoops last night...no problems.
I also defragged Friday morning...no problems.
Again, thanks in advanced. :gj
