I'm not sure if this has been posted or not, I looked around and didn't see it.. so I figured I wold share it:
Original Post At The Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/15/fbi_retires_carnivore/)
Looks as though the FBI has been turning to commercial software instead of using their own Carnivore system..
What are your thoughts?

It doesn't surprise me one bit. Commercial software has one major advantage over top secret computer projects, its developed by many more minds and updated more often. The FBI's Carnivore system setup would only have a few people working on it, for the sake of keeping it a secret, the less who know, the better.

They just want us to think it's gone, when in fact it is weeding out Bush's "evil doers" and non compliant citizens.

Dont shit yourself if the FBI needs to use carnivore they will use it commercial software is probably just a smokescreen for the system from which they really use or maybe they'll pack carnivore type features into the software making it commercial...
Who the hell cares what another guy does online anyways I could give a chit less as long as it dont effect my expierence online ta hell with it sure track down the real criminals the credit theiving, kiddie porn krazed folks friends sharing legit files amongst friends is what P2P is all about on a slightly larger scales cause most folks dont have the time to make contacts to trade files with so to cut to the chase we use P2P... Eventually if need be people will just develope there own little networks amongst friends and distribute files if need be... All this boloni is just that boloni.
