Yep, its sad really. He ruined StarWars. I couldn't even sit through the last part all the way but I was a dumbass and sat through Menace 3 times with different friends. I do want to see Darth in the upcoming episode but thats just mainly to remind me how great the movies were of my childhood. I don't think Lucas will ever make another good movie. He just doesn't have the vision anymore. I would like to buy THX though. I suprised he didn't add some CGI to it. He will do that in a few years to make some more money off of it I'm sure.

Star Wars should have stayed with the core audience which was teenagers & adults!

I got the new Star Wars box set for Christmas. The 2004 versions. Although I'm happy to have them on DVD, I almost barfed when watching the new Jabba scene in part 4 and the Mos Eisley scene where Greedo shoots at Han 1st. Dissapointing.
Then, I thought the Phantom Meneace was allright.... But Part 2 was a real hack job.
What is the deal with THX anyway?

He just can't keep well enough alone, and had to go and fuck everything up.

George Lucas's Neck
http://www.lanceandeskimo.com/paul/neck.shtml
I copied the new box set of the original trilogy. I have to say the picture quality is the best I'ver ever seen it. That all gets flushed down the toilet though when Greedo shoots first, and Han says to the cartoony CG gangster, "Jabba, you're a beautiful human being". Ugh.
The commentary tracks are cool except when Lucas starts to speak up. All he has to say is the same old crap I've been hearing since I was 13, "heroes myths archetypes blah blah blah". The Carrie Fischer commentaries are so few and far between because she's crazier than a coked-out shit house rat.
I've got Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress" DVD, and there's a short interview entitled "George Lucas on Kurosawa". Basically Lucas goes out of his way to put himself in the same league as Kurosawa by saying stuff like "We both like long lenses because they seperate the characters from their background" instead of what he should say, "I copy Kurosawa's techniques because I don't have my own".
It's fine to say you're influenced by a great director, but to try and insert yourself into his greatness is unforgivable.
I have issues. I grew up with Star Wars, and have fond memories of the whole phenomenon, but I hate George Lucas. I would rip his beard out with my bare hands if I ever saw him.

From reasons to hate episode #2:
Reason #25
Bustin' on Artoo
There's this one scene where Padme and Anakin are walking on Naboo and she says she's a little nervous and he confesses to also being nervous since this is his first assignment by himself. "Don't worry," Padme says. "We have Artoo with us." Then they both laugh about how ridiculous a concept it is that Artoo could be at all useful. Artoo beeps and if Threepio were there to translate it would probably be something along the lines of "Fuck you both."
LMFAO....:fire

There is a good MAD t.v episode with Will Sasso dressed up like Lucas giving a tour for the media. Its hillarious he drives a golf cart around "skywalker ranch" basically a run down little house and then beats on his assistants with a fake light saber, if I remember too he was wearing the leather head covering wickett was wearing in Return......was some funny shit.

I am also holding out hope for episode three......if it sucks balls I will be pissed to all hell
What is with the shitting on a well respected franchise?
There have been allot of sequels recently *cough*matrix*cough* where it all went to shit one after another...
Lucas made the mistake when he decided to direct it himself

I still have hope for EpIII too.... There's a lot that needs to happen, I gotta hope that it's better than EpII.
We know it's not going to have a happy ending, that's for sure...

Moneoa, I've seen that Mad TV episode! It's funnier than hell. Isn't he eating a bucket of fried chicken the whole time or something?
The trailer for Episode 3 looks great, but let's remember the trailers for the last two looked awesome as well.
Reason #29
"C-3PO, meet R2-D2."
Yet again I am embarrassed. As if it weren't obvious enough who these two droids we're dealing with are, it is shoved in our face yet again! We get it! The droids were there... they're meeting! They're later going to be inseparable robot buddies! Enough already! Just about the only character from a previous movie that was introduced well was Bib Fortuna. He walked quietly on and off the screen with no unnecessary splendor. I don't get it because George Lucas seemed to have developed this entire school of thought in the first three movies. He would create these huge expensive sets just to blow them up or have them pass in the background for just a few seconds. Now he seemed to be just abandoning this philosophy for cheap thrills. The beauty of a movie like this is that it's going to be watched many many times by many many stupid people. You can afford to not have every joke and nod to the other movies not be so dead center. It was around this point in the film I remember being reasonably certain I would have to watch Selacious P. Crumb walk by and stand in front of the camera for fifteen minutes while waving, winking and setting off flares.
I personally don't think The Matrix got quite as ruined as Star Wars.
Reloaded introduced some interesting ideas, but there was no follow up in Revolutions. Basically it was just mini-mechs and an overt Christ alegory. However, I'll take the Matrix trilogy over the Star Wars prequels any day.
You know how they got over Keanu Reeves lack of acting ability? They gave him very few lines and had him kickin' ass at every possible turn. What did they do with Hayden Christiansen (after the mistake of casting him)? THEY GIVE HIM WHOLE PAGES OF WHINING DIALOUGE.
I have to pee.

I've read a bunch of novels back in the day that were set in the Star Wars universe, and they were MUCH more interesting then the plots to the prequels. If any of u guys read alot (I dont anymore) you should check them out. I was impressed, but now I also have to pee.

We Deliver, I think in IMO that Knights of the Old Republic is a better prequel than the movies already made....someone should write the story into a screen play

I liked the first three originals although being fourteen I never saw them in theatres or back when they were considered really amazing films, not that they arent amazing films. Just movies now a days have to have billion dollars in special effect to be worth anything. But personally I only watched bits and pieces of the newer movies and havent liked what I have seen. I think lucas should have stopped while he was ahead

I guess I'll be the 1st in this thread to say I liked Attack of the Clones. Anakin's whining can be a little annoying but overall I liked it far better than Phantom Menace and am looking forward to Ep III alot.

I loved the books by Kevin J. Anderson, Seriouly his stuff would have made a hell of a lot better movies than the garbage George Lucas has been squeezing out.

I really like the Martix movies but I think 2 and 3 should have been shortened into one kick ass movie with non stop fighting. There is alot of fluff that could have been trimmed out and people hate ciff hangers in movies.
I wonder when they'll make the return of the Matrix with Will Smith.
The movie forums ROCK!
