Got a friend of mine who's running XP Pro. She has a 120 gb hd and all of that good stuff.
She has another pc with a 20 gb hd in it. All she wants to do is rip out the 20 gb and install it in her case and use that 20 as a backup. NOW...I think that all I would have to do is set the 20gbhd to "slave", right, and find power for it and attach the ribbon and close up the case and fire up the old pc and, uh...watch everything come up. right????

I'm missing something, huh???? :tol (that's me)

Help???

Alternatively, you could set it to cable select, if its an option. This way, It won't matter which connector on the cable you choose - either one will work.

Make sure everything is backed up. You could lose all her stuff when you change the boot records. Ya never know, be safe

I hope that both cases have SATA/ATA compatability. Ran into that problem with my new system and its SATA connection. Too lazy at the moment to get a conversion kit. Maybe later when I need the extra space.
