O.K., I've gone a new venture, for me that is. It's probably old stuff to some of you, so I hope I can get some answers. For the past few years, I've just been sharing what I download. Now, I've decided that I want to make some of my own MP3's and throw them out there. So, I downloaded a demo version of a program called Audio Recorder Pro. It's really easy to use, but I'm not that pleased with the quality of the MP3's I am getting. I've played around with the settings but I still keep getting the same problem: when I play the resulting MP3's, the instruments are loud and the singer's voice is very soft. It's not as simple as adjusting the left and right channels, as the instruments and/or voices can be on either or both channels. Now, I remember that sometimes when I download a file, it sounds like this when it's in MP3 format, but when I burn it into regular CD format it sounds fine. I haven't tried burning any of these yet, but I know a lot of people listen to their music in MP3 format, so I'm wondering how much value these files will have. Has anyone ever heard of this problem, and is there a solution? The sources (audiotapes, vinyl records and audio streams off the internet) sound fine when played through the speakers on the computer. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. :aim
