or this could be an antipiracy thing on microsofts part, you shouldnt get any spyware from it aslong as you download it from the right site. I believe its on Sourceforge now, shareaza is now open source, spyware seems unlikely

winmx & kazaa lite++ didn't come up with spyware so I don't think it is a privacy thing dude.

I had all of them installed on my PC when I ran it. So it must have spyware.

Use WinMX it's better anyway.

ms, who we all know makes the best software, has seen "ed2k" and the ability to read ed2k magnet links in the registry and ASSUMED (good job, ms) that you have installed ed2k and it's included adware. that first part, about grokster... microsoft is just wrong, sorry.

because shareaza only uses the ed2k engine, you still have no spyware.

I always scan my system with Ad-aware and Spybot S&D (The two best antispyware programs, IMO) and they never pick up on anything bad from shareazaa. I tust them much more than Micro$oft and their buggy shit.

i agree with isus, it's just detecting ed2k link handler for shareaza and calling it spyware because edonkey has spyware.
