i used Direct Connect from august through may of 2001-2002 (college fall and spring semesters). upon returning to campus this august, i find that i cant connect to any hub. i am using the same pc i used last year. I can download the public hub list, and it even says connected to the hub that i double-click. i can even get the hub's startup message. but the users and data are always zero.....and after a minute or so it says disconnected from hub. this happens on EVERY hub. from free share limits to 35 gig share limits. i have tried everything....passive, active...changing port numbers...everything. i get nothing. i have heard from friends at other schools that this happens to them as well, along with a guy using dsl in an apt. can anyone help me please ??? i'm on t1, and i'm dying to start sharing files and downloading files. thanx in advance.

i just reinstalled Direct Connect, and suddenly i can get into hubs. However, i cant connect to anyone to download from them. i cant browse files, i cant download from anyone with available slots. My queue list is full, but my downloads never start. i've tried both passive and active modes, and i get the same results. BUT, the strange thing is, whenever i exit out of direct connect, it says 'you currently have 6 (or some number) transfers in progress......' but it still shows nothing in my download list, its all still in my queue list. there are no uploads happening when this occurs either. i dont get it. this thing is driving me crazy !!!!! any ideas why this freakin thing wont work????? Oh by the way, i just tried to exit out, and it says i have 8 transfers in progress, and i have done nothing. i checked my upload and download list, and they are empty. queue list is still full. and nothing is in my upload or download history. This thing is freakin me out .
