Hello gurus,
I was wondering what is the best program to use for music/video sharing when connected to to the internet via a satelite dish. I have a new computer and I tried Kazaa Resurection but it does not seem to be able to dowload fast enough and gets cut off. (On a side note: does any one know why i may get 4000 hits for a search but be from the same 4-5 users?) I used kazaa lite before and liked it, but if there is something better please help me out. It has to be adware/spyware free please. Is there a lite version of the ares program i've been hearing about?
Thanks a million!!!
cheers

You can try Ares. Ares itself is "lite" without ads, the Ares Lite version is just a trimmed down version, just the basics. Both versions are on their site.
As for Kazaa, I would just leave that alone. Too many corrupt files, fakes, RIAA/MPAA etc etc...
And correct me if I'm wrong...doesn't satelite use a phone connection for connecting and uploading while the dish only downloads data?? Maybe it could be that that is disconnecting you from the network. just a thought.

Thanks for the reply...I will try ares. As for satelite i have no idea..I'm just a technology impaired geologist.

But when you install Ares, opt out of NavHelper. It's spyware.

Why is it that graphite conducts electricity, but diamonds don't?

Why is it that graphite conducts electricity, but diamonds don't?
Regarding diamonds... it is possible to tell the difference between a genuine diamond and one artificially made in a lab, given that serial numbers are not engraved on the diamonds themselves?

Monty: no idea, my guess would be molecular structure and impurities in the graphite.
Hawkburn: yeah they can do spectral analysis and tell the difference....costs $$$ though..diamonds are overated anyway (just don't tell my fiance!!)

Monty:
Graphite is arranged in lattices, these rub together and conduct in a similar fashion to metals, which are also arranged in lattices. Diamond however is arranged in a covalent network fashion, in terms of a tetrahedron, which limits conductivity because it can't transfer electricity as eaily from layer to layer.
But hey, thats senior chemistry. (correct me if i'm wrong bigjenks20)

Isn't your upload through a land line, and therefore it sucks? Badly?

what model is your sat? The older land line returns were fazed out last year all new sat connections are send and recieve units (I install them for Direcway)
One reason you may be getting disconnected is if your bandwidth usage has exceeded your contracted amount, I think for most customers its like 140megs over a 2 hour period or something like that.
