i wanna know how you can take a screenshot of a movie, specificly an avi file. i use divx playa and when i hit the screenshot button and paste it into fireworks or photoshop it leaves the divx video player black. id be willing to bet this is an intentionally placed feture, but how do i get around it?

should do what you need it to, i've never tried it personally, but i've heard good things.

use adobe photoshop, perferably the latest version

run it, and then run the movie, then pause it and hit print screen. (then leave the movie as is, DON'T UNPAUSE IT go to photoshop and paste. It will be a black hole, but bring the movie up and hit print screen again, and then paste again. It will be your pic.

Never captured a movie, but it's what I use. It's got DirectX support, which is what most video players use I think.

i was just watching call for help..........here's the answer in WMP.....

go into the options under the performance tab and disable hardware acceleration by moving the slider all the way to the left.

thanx cpugenious.... that worked.... tho when you turn off hardware acceleration the quality and framerate really suffer. as you can see, my avatar has changed, its aki ross' old boyfriend as a soldier from the movie final fantasy: the spirits within. great movie. which one of my avatars looks better? the freaky clown scetch or this one?

As I said earlier - Hypersnap. Just tried it with Tom Hanks in "Castaway", worked a treat, no fiddling. Capture Window.
