Lately I've been using the most recent plain BT client from Bram's main site. When I need a more powerful client, I go with ABC.

BitComet, no Java/Python/etc crapware for me.

Bitspirit - like bitcomet except a better interface - comet is messed up. I seriously don't see why everybody likes azureus.

I have used:
PTC (was okay for an early multi-torrent download but well surpassed by others now)...
BitTornado (sucked up resources for me.. liked it... but after using Azuerus... I don't like it!!)...
Shareaza (didn't like their torrent downloading... seemed to be getting much slower transfers than with Azureus)
Azureus (IMHO... the fastest and most configurable of the client's I've tried so far)
Still yet to see ABC but of those I've listed.. Azureus wins for various different reasons (speed, configurability, interface).
What is ABC coded in... and does it use a Java or Python core at all?? - I'm looking for a good torrent client.. BUT.. one coded in something native to windows (JVM sucks up too much resources for what it does)
[I'll check bitcomet and bitspirit out!!]

Azureus is the best but if you don't like Java then ABC is the next best.

Which is why BitComet, fully written in C++, is the obvious choice.

But this is still ok as you can track shifts away from certain clients and get a good feel for what people have moved too.
I voted for Azureus.

I like G3, in my oppinion it is better than other clients I have tried. I have tried ABC, Azureus and Shadows Experimental

Well I think the fact that Azureus allows for plugins to be added gives it a big edge over the other clients. Just look at some of the plugins that have been made and its pretty amazing.

I have used BitSpirit, Azureus, BitTornado, Torrentopia, ABC and G3 torrents and wasn't completely satisfied with any of them. ABC locked my computer and Azureus used up close to 100 of my CPU. The only one I have consistently gotten great results from is BitComet .
This is an excellent program with a great interface. Its does all you might ask for from a file sharing program and more .One thing thats great is if there is a problem with a tracker it searches for an identical or equalivalent tracker to continue the download. Many other programs simply let the download die if the tracker has problems. :aim

That's not entirely true. It only looks for a backup tracker if you specify one, IIRC.

Bittornado by shadow has my vote, never had a problem.

Exactly, Azureues does the same thing and actually lets you input a backup tracker of your own. The backups are contained within the torrent file, so as long as the program can read em, they can be used.

Shareaza to download and ABC to seed.
Shareaza will download as many torrents at a time you want it to, and I have had it up over 2.2 megs in speed on a 3.2 meg connection. It is no good to seed so I use ABC to seed.
By the way, Shareaza is also trackerless, so if the tracker goes down, you don't.

Bit Tornado Shadow .0.3.9..
ABC IS good.. But wait til you try to download discographies or album collections. Can't choose to never download. So you have to take it all, you may have 4 albums that are already listed, and there is only 1 you want.
You may want to read on how to become a clever peer, so you can connect to swarms of people. Also there is a program you can download that will open 50 connections in windows (Default is ten) Improves speeds!

Are you kidding me?
ABC doesn't even compare to Azureus.
Azureus is easily the most powerful P2P program I've ever seen. The fact that it uses Java is a very minor inconvenience and it makes it possible to use across a wide range of platforms.
