ive tryed many ways to download movies, using different programs and different methods.
but as of yet i cant find an actual good way of doing it!
im feb up of having to leave my pc on 24 hour a day for a week just to get 1 movie.
i wouldnt mind but ive gotta 512k connection!!!!


does anyone know of a decent method of getting large files quickly?

Well the fool proof, fake file proof method of getting large files is eDonkey/Overnet but it does take a long time....

If you want stuff fast try KaZaA with DK or FastTrack Accelerator.... but beware that some of those files are fakes, go to http://k-lite.tk and then go to verified files to find the real files on the FastTrack Netork.

If you are going to use FastTrack to download movies I'd recommand going to www.FastTrackMovies.com (http://www.fasttrackmovies.com), you'll also need sig2dat (http://www.geocities.com/vlaibb/)

to use Sig2Dat u need to have Kazaa, get Kazaa Lite 2.

Try Direct Connect, or DC++

If I'm wrong and it ain't better for movies than KaZaA (and other networks!!).. fine.. come back and bash me bout being wrong!!

DC is prolly better for movies but its more nerdy and takes more of an effort and you have to be able to share at least 10 giga to get on any decent hubs...Its more effort than it is better methinks..

tried it b 4, because i read 1 of your posts from 2 weeks back. and uh.... it sucked, now don't get me wrong but like iq214 said i think it's for more nerdy ppl.

i found it a bit hard to use and i really couldn't get um....§hit

maybe it is good, but not for the "little ppl"

What's wrong with leaving it on for a week? Get hot or something? An if you have a 512 connection what's the big deal there, you wont be charged for leaving it on all week. It's free so you can't really bitch about how fast you get what you want LOL

grr Im on that shit 256/128 adsl so Im on 24/7 too cuz I like movies BUT THERES A POSITIVE SIDE TO IT..it means Im also available for UPLOADS 24/7!

heh.. nerdy...

hmm.. it is more technical than other p2p networks and it is elitist, that much is true. if u know how to use it, have enough to share and login to one of the larger hubs, it's worth the effort.

But.. If you grab it, share one gigabyte and login to a small minshare hub.. you'll get the sort of crap you'll find on kazaa there and probably have a lame experience!! Plus.. bandwidth helps a lot on DC too. Again.. elitist. ;)

i have 1024k cable internet and i use winmx and kazaa lite also imesh so that when download are not runnin on kazaa i can open imesh and the file automatically transfer to imesh as well so that i can look for sources on that network whick works really well

if ne1 wants a certain dvd and uses winmx let me know and if i have the file iw ill tell u my user name and iw ill start the download when u wqueue up...i usually get ppl uploading from me at round 25kbs

i share almost 40 gb of stuff on all networks

i have tried all of the above programs
direct connect seemed pretty cool apart from the fakesr who fake sharing

kazaa/lite fast but poor quality files apart from divxs which are far less shared so take longer

winmx seems ok for music but for movies not so good

edonkey has amazing stuff but i found too slow up and down

after trying these i took the plunge and went on mIRC
takes a while to understand but for movies and isos of apps and vcds and svcds avis etc nothing else i have tried comes near only place i can get stuff when it first comes out no fakes and i can max my 512k download speed constantly and get a good quality svcd/vcd release in about 5 hours (for a 1.2gb film)
and then just burn it on my cd(not dvd burner) and watch on my dvd player and tv

only other place i can say is as good is newsgroups
