Or at least the main server is, I guess some people are still using it for open nap. I was reading about it from Frontcode themselves in an interview over at Slyck.com.
My question is, would I still be able to download files from someone using an open nap server on 2.6 if I'm using 3.3? Thanks all.

yeah you should be able to download off of anyone using open nap no matter what program they are using

2.6 users can't Q up files from MX3 users connected to opennap.
The request remain "invisible" to MX3 client.

Glad to see the back of it!
That v2.6 was a leechers delight with its 'almost' zero setting of upload speed.:shy

Save $ my a**. 2.6 worked fine & all you get on 3.3 is a bunch of RED on the right side of the screen telling you that 2 zillion people are waiting for the same music.I guess the if it's not broke don't fix it saying means nada to WinMx.

This is partially true. Actually there are two popular server programs: OpenNap and SlavaNap. But there are many more people running SlavaNap than OpenNap. So when you think you're connecting to OpenNap it is probably SlavaNap instead. Just look at the server messages and you will see what type you are connected to.
Now here's the thing: SlavaNap doesn't enter remote queues on the WinMX 3X versions properly, but OpenNap does. Test it for yourself.
So the question is: is SlavaNap fucked up, or is WinMX fucked up?

heh , seeing how queing on 2.6 wasent a issue, im gessing its winmx, but like i said many many many times before, i still think winmx 3.xx versions have way to much issue's .
Just look at the posts here with all the "bugs"errors and other problems.

I wonder why 3X doesn't queue properly with SlavaNap, and why they haven't fixed it yet.

no idea, i still have the feeling winmx is overdoing itself in trying to create a new "npster"idea with their own net and chatrooms, wich it never had in the beginning.
