i just got the HL2 DVD , i put in the dvd drive and try to install, the install program works and gives me the first install window,then when i press next nothing happens

i have windows xp no service packs

should i get service packs?? my computer works well otherwise

There's a naughty copy floating around that has that exact bug. In which case, a person who stooped to that level, would be screwed.

my friend burned the DVD for me :)

so that means no solution?
