Sometimes when i'm on p2p (usually winmx or kazaa),my modem connection gets 'booted' off.

Is there an anti-hacking utility that will prevent this?

I use 'blackice' and 'zone alarm' and they don't prevent it.

Thanx to any replies!

Uh, you're getting booted off is not due to a hacker. If you're on 56k its because your connection timed out or your isp sucks and they are constantly "loosing the connection".

Norton SystemWorks 2003 (also downloadable off of KaZaA, hehe) has dis feature called "keep alive". It stops your dial-up connection from gettin disconnected unexpectedly. I haven't used it cuz im on cable :-D, but im sure it should do sometin. There are probably other programs that will do the same for free, try searchin download.com. Hope dis helps!!

That is because you are on Dial Up.. You probably find a free program that might help your connection but there really isnt much you can do about it to make it go away unless you decide to get broadband..

It is not because of hackers or anyone maliciously kicking you offline. However i suggest you run Windows Update and get the latest patches anyways.

It might also be your ISP monitoring your connection; ie: when you've been uploading for a while it'll disconnect you to conserve bandwidth for other customers.

Its not a hacker though, not many hackers get their kicks by hanging out on p2p networks and disconnecting random users :p
