What's your favorite PC game?

I like Warcraft III, Halo, UT2004, Call of Duty, and maybe Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I can't decide which one is my favorite though.

EDIT:Also don't mind Rebirth, He used to be a happy guy but underwent an intense
transformation to become our resident naysayer to fight the leigons of asshats
that might fill the forums with garbage otherwise.

ya rebirth hasnt been very chipper of late/ anyways my favorite modern pc game would probably be Half Life 2 or UT2k4, lately though I have become quite partial to "The Battle Grounds" a mod for the original Half-Life. Anyone with Half Life should check out Battle Grounds keep an out for me im "magiic"

I think we should all think about this before we post console or arcade games... I am a fan of console games, but they are not correct in the context of this question. In fact, they are wrong.

BTW... people that play PC games have no fun and a boring as all hell. They just like and play the same goddamned FPS over and over again. "d00d... I <3 HL2"... "no way dude, doom3 is the rawkz" They both have very similar mechanics and are just better or worse versions of each other. Man, I would really love some progressive game creators that do not just rehash the same old shit. GTA is a great example (although a console game, and not really appropriate, but I am breaking the rule, because I fucking understand it and can reply appropriately to a thread). It was damned progressive, but games are just rehashes of the same thing from it, even games in other genres.

I want game-makers to be creative and do new things, not the same old shit.

BTW... I can get basically the same thing as was made in 1985 on a PC, just with more rules and updated graphics... and, oh just perhaps online play of the same shit as D & D had 30 years ago.

Whatever... it still took like 35 games to do that... I was still not in error.

Megaman x4 made both of my thumbs bleed once... the only other game to do that was Castlevania: SOTN (and many arcade games made my palm blister, but that is due to the damned grippy shit they put on them and the manic intensity of may game).
