I haven't been able to use shareaza for a long time because my computer slows down to a halt and gets the bsod... Anything I can do to help this? Same goes for azureus.

You probaly should post the specs of your computer, what CPU, what OS you use, etc.I haven't used Shareaza recently enough to help, but post the info and someone will come along and help.Make it easy for them.

sorry bout that. how could I forget :|.

intel pentium 4 processor (dunno much more than that)
Ati Radeon 9550
50 gigabyte partition that shareaza is on.
D-link router
Wireless card
512 MB ram
Integrated sound.

That's what I think you need to know and more for reference :P

Well, the easiest answer is - have you tried reinstalling the programs? Make sure that you're also running the latest versions

Do you have Win XP SP2? If you've installed the 50 connects patch, that can cause *some* P2P programs to use LOTS of CPU almost 100% i got that with Shareaza, after changing it back, it was fine.

OHHH that might be it. how would I go about undoing that?

If you have Zone Alarm 5 that is the problem. It was with mine, till I got rid of it. Also make sure shareaza is configured correctly- settings then connect to networks. Works great on my computer. The fact that Azureus does the same thing makes me think it is not Shareaza. Check router ports, firewall ports. I did not have to install a patch to XP sp2.
