Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is a technical overview / comparison of the various P2P networks / applications - a table detailing what features they have, how centralized they are, whether and where they use encryption (and what kind), how anonymous they are and all that.

Does such a thing exist? Thanks! :-)

Yes...it's called ZP forum threads. Read all about it and then if that doesn't fill your needs...try Google or the apps .com site. But most of the info can be found here if you look. Members are happy to answer the tough questions that you are unable to find tho. Welcome to ZP!

Thanks. :) Well yeah, I know that I could find the necessary information myself; I was just wondering if it had already been done by someone else.

Define asses please?

I was not being mean or otherwise. I was stating a fact. I also welcome our new members. I myself, only encourage people to try and find things for themselves. I do not flame people! People have brains, but are afraid to use them!

There does seem to be a trend lately with people looking for the "easy" way.

Tim I could have sworn there was something like what you are describing up-to-date at one of these forums but a comprehensive search fails to reveal one. The guys at Broadband (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark%2C3437086~root=poll%2Cswapping~mode=flat) were maintaining a too-simple chart 2 years back but it seems to have dropped off the map. Assuming someone doesn't pop up with a link to a replacement, why don't you post a demo layout with 3 or 4 programs you are already familiar with and see how many people chime in wanting to add their favorite product.

ratbag you talk big, where's your fucking chart then? at least racknrail contributed the best advice he had, you seem to be in this thread for no reason other than to flame.

Yes, being mean to newbies isn't exactly a warm welcome, but then again; people asking the simplest questions because they can't be bothered to click a button with their index finger and find out themselves, whos side am i on?
