The only probable truth for now is that ants does not have the traffic like bittorent and others have. The riaa/mpaa do have a budget to consider in lawsuits, there going to go after the most tempting and easiest targets first. Ants has been put to no hard tests and probably never will be, simply because monetarily its just not a feasibility to pursue right now.

Frankly I couldnt get ants to work and although the concept is a good one I fear this program will never make into the mainstream. By the time its fully developed there will more than likely be a program that's alot faster and just as anonymous. That's what filesharers want and until such time people will continue taking risks, otherwise its just not worth filesharing at all.

Goodluck with the project just dont claim complete anonymity until you can prove it! Downloading a file or two over the ants network to see where it comes from doesnt prove diddly :aim

It's true that these programs are far from perfect at this time. The concept is commendable tho. I think P2P's future depends upon these programs developments. There is safety in numbers, currently, but for those unlucky few that have been targeted, it is most unfortunate. So the more work that goes into these apps, the better! Our future of sharing (the good stuff) depends on it. Even Napster had to start somewhere and look at how that program has evolved over the years. Give them time and give them your support. Everyone here is really looking for the same thing....Cheers!

Blubster lite wasn't able to connect, my router is configured, bittorrent works - if even blubster can't connect, fuck anonymous p2p.

The biggest problem is that these networks are slow. The bandwith wont really be available for the masses for a few years in order to make this really work well for large files. Its good that its being researched, and people are trying to develop programs. I find it interesting that most of these anons rely on the proxy setup. Well when the bandwith is finally available the whole world is going to be proxied. When is that going to be? Probably in about 5-10 years.

When that time comes and it will the riaa/mpaa and others(there will be others) well there lawsuits arent going to be worth shit, and that my friends will be a glorious day for everyone. In the meantime,riaa/mpaa will just keep right on alienating there consumer base. I for one have stopped going to the theatre, renting videos, purchasing music, or buying anything that has to do with the entertainment industry..........and that will continue until they decide to get there collective heads out of there asses.

I meant that the programs not interesting to the mpaa/riaa right now. I do find the program interesting they however do not thats why im saying its not positive there anonymous because they havent been placed through any real tests yet.

Good point but isn't it always the best way.

If you don't want be sued by the RIAA/MPAA then stay below their radar by being uninteresting to them.

For example if they are intersted in Kazaa users who share over a 1,000 mp3s then don't use Kazaa and share less than a 1,000 mp3s.

It also means (almost by definition) that if you use a small network with few users and a small amout of content then you are highly unlikely to be sued whether the network is "anonymous" or not :)

Ants came out of The mute concept. I use mute, but focus on Ants cause it is further developed. If something else new and better comes out after Ants that is anonymous and works better that would be GREAT news!

The only reason why Mute lost Steam is because Jason, its developer, stoped working on the project. I see Gwren, of ants, every day in the chatroom. He puts out new bata's almost every day. I believe he is putting his full heart and soal into this program.
