Nintendo Sells 500,000 DS Units In First Week

500,000 units sold in the first week is rather impressive.. have any of you picked one up? If so, what are your thoughts about it so far?

I'm waiting for the PSP. i'm pretty sure Sony has some more 'mature' (action, shooter, something bloody) games that would be more to my taste, although if they came out with a DS version of Harvest Moon that had good graphics... well.. theres something that makes me buy a console just to play a game where I'm a farmer.

Before you call me a hick, play the game, you WILL get addicted if you play for more than one hour.

I know what your talking about HB, Harvest Moon is extremely addictive. I rented the game like 15 times. I love it.

I'm getting my ds for christmas and getting the japanese version of the psp also because I know fluent Japanese.

Psp is gonna be like the genisis, in other words its gonna be a battery hog. At best its supposed to run for 6 hours. But websites are claiming that its probably closer to 4. The ds also has a good shooter... Metroid.

Nintendo DS, is as well online and multiplayer compatable... There are two screens that are visible while it is open... I don't have one myself, but i have tested it out at the video game store Electronic botiques or w/e it is called

It is fucking sweet... I preordered one, and the EBGames I bought it from had 12 shipped for 50 pre-orders... I then went to K-Mart, where they had 5. Not surprisingly, the only people in the store were over 60 when I was there.

It is damned cool... very responsive, bright and beautiful. This is the future of gaming.

All this talk about harvest moon is pretty funny considering I was just playing it for the past few hours. Good thing I didn't have anything to do.. the game is addictive.

The DS is powered by twin ARM-based processors running at 67MHz and 33MHz, respectively, and contains 128MB of RAM. The two displays - the lower of which is touch-sensitive - operate at 256 x 192, a little better than the GBA's 240 x 160 panel. The DS will support wireless Internet access and multi-player gaming across an 802.11b Wi-Fi link.
