gotta agree - photoshop all the way. if you need a free open-source app though, The Gimp is where it's at

photoshop, baby. I'm sure for basic editing those other programs are good...I know paint shop is very similar to photoshop and costs much less.

Ive tried pretty much all of them so i was just curious to see what others use. For very simple stuff i tend to use paint shop pro just because i find it more user friendly then photoshop. But for extremem editing photoshop is the best. The gimp i just started looking into it because ive gotten into this opensource craze. Getting more interested in the projects. Then corel was my first ever program I used. Its not bad but more geered towards photography then just graphics all together. If im not mistaken they are fairly well known in the buisness marketplace. Other is just for people who may want to say paint or other microsoft crap. Or maybe something new ive never tried. Anyway I basically saw what I expected everyone loves photoshop.
Just out of curiosity anyone know what the dif is between photoshop pro or whatever it is and elements. My brother just bought elements recentrly and I havnt looked at it but I kinda wonder why the price is like 600$ less. Canadian.

If you don't want something too powerful like Photoshop but still want a good image editor with support for MANY formats, I would take a look here. Easy to download and it has a very loose shareware restriction.

Photoshop is by far my favorite, GiMP is second, because I'm not as proficient at using it. Corel Draw is also getting better as of late, but still not good enough to compete with the likes of Photoshop.
