HL2 problems

Hey guys I bought the game and when I run it, its sometime runs very slowly

Here are my specs

Pentium 4 2.8
120 g hard drive
1.5 gig of memory
ati radeon 9000 128 bit


I updated the drivers and installed direct x 9.0 and still nothing

is there anything else I can do?

The fact that you're using an ati radeon 9000 will be your problem.

Thats the thing that is holding back the rest of your pc for this game.

I used a radeon 9600XT to play it and even thats considered too slow to play it smoothly.

I used Radeon 9200 and it works totally fine, as does other more powerful games such as Doom 3, just update your drivers for your ATI or download the patch if you haven't already.
