I would say ed2k. Audiobooks, tho, ...well...ed2k, then BitTorrent for NEW stuff.

Emule, bittorrent, IRC and CD's over snail mail.

They aren't p2p but newsgroups and private ftp's are good too.

By far the best place for e books I've found is the channel #bookz on undernet (IRC). I use besirc (It's free), you can get it here:

http://bersirc.free2code.net/

I use this server, I've never had it be full, ever:

Lelystad.NL.EU.UnderNet.Org

You name it, they probably got it. I can usually find anything I want, and get it in maybe 2 minutes (sometimes it takes longer, but very rarely).

If you want audio books, I dunno. But I can recomend audible.com - it's not free, but it IS VERY reasonable. If you sign up for their audible listener plan, you get 2 audiobooks every month, no matter how much they cost, for like $16 a month. That's about the same as 2 paperbacks! You also get an mp3 player. It's not an ipod or anything (only about 60 mb storage) but what do you want for nothing :).You do have to sign a one or two year contract, however.
