This must be due to my isp being a university, but everydownload (and upload) i start starts off fine (60+K/s) but gradually goes slower and slower, untill it reaches 0.05k/s, then just disconnects... ive tried kazaa on my win98 and winxp machines, so it aint the operating system.

If my port 1214 was blocked, i wouldnt be able to connect/download/search at all righ??

Sounds like they are limiting the traffic in+out of that port. Just an idea..

Have you read the Back to School guide? http://www.zeropaid.com/php/school.php

You might want to direct incoming traffic through your HTTP port.

Well the fact is those Socks5 routers either give you limited bandwidth (http-tunnel gives you 1.5k/s - i mean, i can get that in kazaa by getting 10 sources @ 0.15k/s each) or ask you to pay up from the start. I tried socks2http, but still cant get anything faster than 5k/s with that.

I imagine they are limiting the bandwidth through port 1214 - is there a way to counteract that?
