Here's the deal...
Back in September when I got to college, the I had to update windows service pack 2 to connect to the internet. So after that, I tried bittorrent. Bittorrent was really slow that time, so I gave up a little while. The college connection obviously limited the speeds on a whole various ports. Afterwards, my friend was telling me how he bypassed port limits by using proxies to connect to IRC. So I thought I'd give that a try using Bitcomet since it has proxy support. And voila, it works! All was great until my computer was messed up, i lost all my partitions on my computer and I had to reinstall my computer.

After reinstalling, everything just sucked. First off, I couldn't retrieve the proxy I had been using for 2 months since September. But I thought, there's gotta be more proxies that work out there. Plus, in this connection proxy only serves as relay, speed shouldn't matter, but now my internet connection is crap. I updated to windows service pack 2 and it's got this gay little shield thing. Didn't have that from the September sp2 update. My internet is always slow and crappy now. It used to be that my internet was fast no matter what (when the people sharing the same lan experience slow speeds, my was not slow) but now, it's always slow.

So I just kept trying with bitcomet, at one point, I got bitcomet to work at full speed without proxy... but then I thought since I was given a stupid Universal Studios copyright crap awhile ago, maybe it's a safe idea to use a proxy. So I tried various proxies, and none worked. So I gave up, but then, my connection turned crap again after I gave up trying proxies.

Anyone know what went wrong?

I was using Bitcomet 0.53 btw (0.56 is just not working for me)
