I just upgraded my studio computer with an athlon 1.7 gh, 512 ram w/XP Pro and audio interface, Edirol UA-25. I have been using cool edit pro 2.1 and Goldwave for my recording needs for some time now. I like it a lot, but I hear there is much better software available. I am looking for a new software for sound engineering, since upgrading my computer. I was wondering if any musicians or engineers know of better program? I have heard of a couple, but don't know much about them. Like Cubase, Nuendo, soundforge and of course, Cakewalk...which I have never tried. I was wondering if any ZP members do sound engineering and/or recording. If you have any sites that would be helpful too. I am still very new to digital recording and sound engineering. I have tinkered around with reel2reels and analog tascam systems for many years. I am learning more every day...and loving it! All suggestions appreciated. Expert advise appreciated even more...TIA.
