I have satellite internet (www.direcway.com)
I am restricted in my uploads to around 56k modem speed, however my downloads are in excess of 1Mb.
It is my understanding that I would only get 56k download speeds because that is all I can upload....is this correct?
Thank you!!

depending on the p2p program you used, most are double, lol, so you should stay away from emule , and bit torrent, edonkey2000 is ok, so is ares, shareaza, etc etc

its not normal. your upload speed should be about 500Kb/s. and yes, you have to stay away from emule. for me it would be as staying away from internet :D

Downloading is great, but up is bad!!Do u live in an area where Cable Is not Available. We had a choice of Satellite or cable and we took cable. I run three computers and my phone service(Vonage) through my cable and my speed is 4.0Mbs down and 256Mbs Upload. I took the highter speed cause of my computers and phone.
