Problem with Exact Audio Copy combining tracks

Hi! I have a bit of a problem. I am trying to convert an original CD (Bob & Tom-Last Train To Whiskeyville) to mp3 and it's not goin' so well. The CD has around 40 tracks, but they are combined into a lesser number of tracks (around 14) in Exact Audio Copy. I've ripped a few CDs now, but I've never had this happen before. It is an older CD, that may be why, I dunno. So can I get EAC to recognize each individual track somehow? If not what would be the best way to go about getting these tracks encoded and split up into each individual track? I would like to use EAC & the lame codec, but if I can't I'm open to other possibilities. Can I just use a splitter after I encode, or would some other method be easier/produce cleaner tracks? What splitter would be best? Thanks in advance guys!

google for it, its freeware and its a great tool for ripping cds.
post back if you have more problems for assistance.

Unfortunately dbpoweramp appears to do the same thing. It combines the tracks too. I only get 14 total, when there are like 40 tracks in all. I need to figure out a way to encode these and get them split up into individual songs. Is there an option I can change to have it better determine where one track ends and the next begins? Or split the 14 tracks up into the 40 sum tracks there should be after encoding? Thanks!

If possible, why don't rip one track at a time to your hard disk?

Its probably the gap detection is wrong for your drive.

I can rip one track at a time. But if I did I'd have to split each track into the actual two, or three, or four tracks that are being recognized as one track incorrectly. I'd need a good splitter to do this. And I wonder if there isn't a better way.

I read somewhere about changing gap detection settings. But I couldn't figure out how. I found a page that had files with preset settings for my drive & downloaded that file for EAC. But there's no telling if they've changed since I have updated my firmware. Neither of those pages had my drive, but they did have good info about EAC for drives. Then I thought about the key part of your statement, you said "wrong for your drive." Duh, there it is under drive options, not EAC options were I was looking, change gap detection method. So I thank you bud. I'm off to see if I can't find some info by googling as you suggested, or just fiddling with it. Thanks all! My chances of getting somewhere on this have just greatly increased!
