My BT downloads used to be GREAT, but ever since downlaoding the SP2 pack for winXP, I dont get any download speeds above 10-15 kb/s, which is WAY too low obviously.

the ports are already forwarded, (as I already did that before SP2, and it doesnt seem to be changed), I turned off my firewall, and I installed that 4224 thingy, or whatever it was (some patch or whatever) and increased the number of whatever I had to increase...

So can anyone tell me why my downloads are still so slow!? Cant find anything online either :(

Yep, our good friends mirco$oft decided it would be best for security to limit the total number of TCP connections to 10 (to limit the spread of worms)

In english, that means that you can only connect to a maximum of 10 people on BT at once (and most torrents usually have well over that).

The solution (provided to want to still use SP2) is to download the crack to raise your TCP limit - it can be found at http://www.lvllord.de/

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read your post close enough - but, to be on the safe side, I would make sure you ran it with the latest version off the web site. Also, you did restart after you installed the patch, right? (it's a pretty simple step to forget) If that doesn't work, I'm not sure

that's not quite correct. you can have 10 concurrent connection attempts. the number of total established connections allowed is irrelevant. of course, bittorrent attempts to connect faster than this throttle will let it and, thus, event id 4226.
