does a lot of cool stuff and it sounds pretty good. Use EAC for ripping and MM for playing music and keeping tabs on all music on your hd.

I use MusicMatch Media Jukebox Plus w/ DFX DSP plug-in to organize my music, and just listen to random songs. For CD's and entire albums I have on my HD, I use Quintessential Player w/ Dee DSP plug-in. Winamp 3 was too slow and unstable for me, even the final version, so I scrapped it. Winamp 2.xx just has an obsolete feel to it.

i love winamp 3. i run an intel celeron 766 and with that going and a lot of other programs( usually games and kazaa) it works fine. if your pc isnt real powerful tho, i reccomend using a simple skin.

winamp 2.81......................3 was slow on my system, and video playback doesn't match up to WMP yet.

2.71 grew on me like a tumor. LOL So I stick with it. An skins make it look new. Plus IMO 3 is to clunky at the moment.
This skin also makes it look pretty damn good.

I researched and settled on Sonic Foundry Siren Jukebox. It supports many different kinds of audio formats, and does a lot of things the others can't do, like burning music CD's directly from ogg files.
The only bad thing about it was that they priced it so high that very few people bought it, and now it's no longer sold.
What a shame! It's a great app. You can only find Siren Jukebox these days in the pirate networks.

RealOne Player is the best jukebox , you should try it !

RealOne is the work of Satan, and if you know whats good for you, youll stay away from it.

WINAMP. (2.81)
Anything with "real" in its name is bound to be evil and take over your computer. Musicmatch is ok for somethings, but overall winamp is the lightest on resources and still sounds great.

I use a program called Virtuosa... see www.virtuosa.com... They are still working on some new additions to it cuz it is a young program but it keeps meticuluos track of files and has a ton of features. It rips and encodes extremely well and I have had NO problems with audio quality. I use the Fraunhofer(sp?) codec that comes with it and I can encode up to 256kb in standard or VBR with many different speed/quality options. It lacks a little in skins as of yet cause they are still building the hell out of it but for a jukebox prog it is awesome.
Tried many for the dj'ng that I do and it works exceptionally well. Could use PCDJ or something like that but this works fine for me.

winamp 3 crashes all the time. i use a AMD Athlon 1Ghz, 512 Ram, 40 Gb HD and other stuff.
I think it's just plain bad, waiting for the final, cause the skins are awesome!

I use Winamp 2.81 for all of my listening needs, but i use Music Match for listening and ripping my cd's. MM also has that great Tag lookup feature (it searches the net and renames your file thje correct name, dont worry you can choose the tag you want) Winamp 3, isnt all that good for me. It runs fine but i just like 2.81, has sort of a sentimental value :) :cross
