You'll have less problems with XP. XP was made for the home user and most if not all Windows programs are compatible with it. I believe some programs do not work with 2k3.

Ezza - Windows 2003 is for business, and is labled as "Windows 2003 Server"

unless you're managing thousands of users and computers in your home, windows xp would be the best for you.

I had WIndows ME and It crashed soooooooooo many times The Blue screen of death. So many times the screen went black and got message to hit control alt and delete to restart and nothin happened. I was glad when I upgraded to Windows XP SP1. Wont try SP2 til they get all the bugs out of it. Even HP tech support guy told me to hold off for now, My best advice is to go to XP.

My first comp had 2000 Pro. My current comp has XP home. I prefer XP.

bah, linux all the way - just because it requires massive amounts of knowledge just to do simple stuff doesn't mean anything ;)

but seriously, if you don't like to think about what your computer is doing (or you're really lazy), go xp. however, if you're interested in how it works and learning more, go linux :D

XP.

Though there are guides on the net that describe how to properly install and uninstall components of 2003 and any additional files to make it a super-stripped down version of XP.

...kinda like 2000 Pro, actually.
