sounds like a virus to me.
can you load the mozilla page? http://www.mozilla.org
try using firefox it may help untill you get whatever is wrong fixed.

your browser still shouldnt be doing that though, regardless.. I think you may need a little bit more than just firefox to make your box run optimized.

Everything but as for your problem could be a virus buy dont quote me on that id look into windows updates and try to restore ies orginal settings
