The program shouldn't let you "overburn"

I know with Nero anyways, it tells you when you're trying to put too much stuff on a disc. I think there was a thread about this a while ago, and you can go over the 700mb max by a tiny bit but I don't know why and I don't even know if I'm right... I'm sure someone will come along and tell me why I'm wrong and stupid.

You can burn up to 800 mb on one disk if it is in the correct format, Bin and cue, with neros overburn feature, I do it all the time so I know it works.

He does not want to risk over burn. Some CDroms get fucked up by over burn or so I've read anyway. Never hurt any of mine though.

If overburn is not anoption then there is no way to get anything over 700 mb (give or take a few megs) onto a 700 mb CD. I have never had any problems with overburn and I have burned over 350 disks for backup purposes. Also, I know 60 people who do this all of the time and nobody has ever had any problems with overburn as far as I know.

In mode1, which is the default in virtually every burning app, you can get between 699 and 704 MB to a 700 MB (80 min) disk. With mode2, you can get around 800MB. This is how you can burn those 750+MB bin/cue files to a 700MB disk. With overburn, you might be able to increase the amount of data by 1 or 2 percent - likely nothing more. I personally havn't had good luck with overburning, but I imagine that could be from having a really crappy burner up until about 2 months ago.
