View Full Version : Very slow d/l's with Kazaa

I'm using Kazaa Lite. Until 5 days ago my download speeds were fine (around 90-120kbps), now my downloads are around 2kbps. My isp is AT&T broadband cable. I uninstalled Kazaa Lite and reinstalled, which did not help. I even upgraded to the newest version, but that didn't help either. I also run WinMX which I get good speeds, so I doubt it's a network problem. Any suggestions?

Depends on the numbers on line with your file.

I can be d/l'ing from 10 different people and the speed isn't much better than a 56k modem. I wonder if AT&T is screwing with their customers now. I've heard the RIAA wants ISP's to slow their downloads on certain port numbers in order to discourage file sharing.

Sound's like ISP capping I wrote a post a tad ago but it decided to not post itself . Try doing a seach on KL while this low speed thing is happening see if when you do a popular seach EG one for spears LOL the bandwidth tops out at 81 or any number and refuses to give you searchs higher then that. If so I have a feeling it's capped. Damn RIAA they should know P2P will never die!

I'll post some caps of KL when it's going off it's nut if image posts arent distasteful. To show an example of it.

Peace all, Laters

Thanks for the link, I prefer to remain ^annon^ but I can tell you I'm not in Sacramento. From what I understand KL returns the most relevant results AKA fastest ping times? So my guess would be the person who said (in the other forum) that they latent the fuck out of KL's port there by slowing down speeds/searchs/search times/an so on, is dead on. Explains the reason I an maybe others get slow max bandwidth results on searches. Not being technical I'm not sure if the programming an router ping pong time out ect aspects of how it works out on the deeper level but I'll see if I can find something or do something to fix the problem with my system an post the results

Peace all, Later

BTW Does anyone know if you can upload your own avatar?

The searches seem slower too. Last night I uninstalled KL, installed Diet, same thing. Slow as hell. I uninstalled Diet, installed Grokster, slow as hell. I ran virus checker, and ad-aware thinking maybe the RIAA put some kind of crap on my computer, still slow. I have another computer at home, I'm going to try KL on and see. If that is slow than AT&T Broadband is screwing with me. I'll call them up and complain. Even their techs that hooked up my cable internet, said they use p2p. If it is indeed AT&T than I'll switch back to dsl. BTW, I am in Sacramento.
