First of all, I would like to know what's the best emule mod according to my pc (see below).

I'm using eMule 0.44b LSD-18b-P4 mod. I have adsl 512/128. I tried to tweak the settings in order to give me a high download speed. I tried the wizard, the optimal settings, I've read lots of guides, but my donwload speed still doesn't pass 15 k/s (most of the time its lower than 10k/s). I remember using sivka mod a year and a half ago, and downloading at 50 k/s. I wonder if it that's possible with the current mods. So, I would like to know what's the best settings (please help with EVERY setting, including the advanced ones) for this (or other) mod. I think there's no problem with my internet connection. Here's my info:

OS: Windows Xp Sp1
Processor/Memory (RAM): 1000Mb
Harddisk-Capacity/Format (FAT/NTFS): 120G/NTFS
I-Net-Connection/Provider: cyclopnet.pt
(I'm from Portugal)

Firewall (if installed): NA
Win XP internal Firewall (on/off): off
other Firewall (Typ): NA
Ports forwarded (yes/no/donīt know): yes

eMule-version: 0.44c (using eMule 0.44b LSD-18b mod)
Capacities Down/Up: 64/16
Limits Down/Up: 0/0 (i'm using the dss and the uss)
Hard Limit (maximum Sources/File): 400
max. Connections: 1000
max. Con. in 5 sec (extended Settings): 30
DSS/USS (on/off): on/on (with lower limit 32/8)
Advanced settings/Lsd tweak: so many things here! dont know what to do!
Clientport: 1214
UDP Port: 1215
ID color (ed2k/kad): Green/Green
Number of Shared Files: >5000
Number of Downloads: 12

Try manually limiting your upload to about 80% of the capacity of your connection, about 12KB/s for you.

You are using the default kazaa port, try different port numbers, pick one at random like 32567

Try standard emule instead of a mod.

I seem to recall that some servers have a limit on the number of files you can share. Perhaps you are not getting onto the big servers because you are sharing so many files?

It may just be that the files you are downloading are rare, you are limited by the sources and there is nothing you can do.

He didn't ask for an alternative, he asked for a solution.

Kudos to Govern_cannonball for his excellent answers. I'd say definately try changing ports. Definately limit upload to about 12 or 13 KBps. Mods shouldn't make much of a difference. What server your on shouldnt make that much of a difference. The files you are downloading (please do not list them) also make a big difference in how much speed you will be able to access.

Welcome to ZeroPaid. Hope you stick around. :)

First of all, thanks for all the help!
I changed my ports to 1080 e 1090. Also, I noticed that reducing my max connections improved the speed. I have now the max connections set to 300.
I'm having a problem with my shares, most servers only accept between 1000-2000 of them.
The files I'm downloading are very popular, lots of sources there. I'll let it work for a couple of hours to see the results.
Thanks again.

Emule is for sharing big files, if you have 1000-2000 your probably sharing images or mp3s which puts lots of strain on servers and you'll probaly get banned from them.

If you wanna share music on emule, do it with full albums not individual tracks.

Also it takes time to get your speed up on emule, its not like kazaa where you hit max speed straight away, don't expect full speed for about 30mins to an hour aftter starting up, and ideally you should be leaving it on 24-7. I normally have about 20-30 files downloading at a time. Emule is definatey not designed for one file at a time.
