After I upgraded to SP2, I can't upload either. I use a ms wireless g router (though both computers are connected via ethernet) and have mapped the ports. I use windows xp pro on one computer and xp home on the other computer and I can't upload on either. It allows tcp packets but not udp packets. I turned off the windows firewall and tryed changing ports in winmx and router, but it still doesn't work.
I have so much love to give, please help me live again.

How about... uninstalling SP2? Helped my friend on a similar situation. :)

I assume you are using no other software firewall on your winmx machine?
If you are sure that you disabled the xp firewall and that the problem only cropped up with sp2 installation I am not sure what the problem with sp2 is. Many of the problems are misconfiguration issues, but I can't rule out the possibility that something else is happening.
You can always put winmx into firewall mode by changing your inbound tcp and udp settings to unable to accept inbound and connecting as a secondary. You won't be able to connect to others who are in the same mode, but it should get you up and running with upload and download functionality.
I am going to be pretty busy the next few days but I will try to take some time out to do a bit of research into sp2 issues I may not be aware of. If I can come up with anything promising I will post back.
If you haven't already done so, you might want to post in the alt.music.mp3.winmx newsgroup. Be sure to give them all the info you gave me.

I cant' figure it out. I'm not using any other software firewall. I used xp antispy to turn off the xp firewall and increase the connections to 50, but that didn't help. Even if I set mx to unable to accept connections, I still can't upload, unless everyone else is firewalled. I don't have this problem with other p2p programs. I think it has to be a problem with some combination of mx, sp2, and my router. I don't want to uninstall sp2, so I'm gonna connect my old router tomorrow and see if that helps.

Why don't you want to uninstall SP2? Do you actually need it for something?

I tiried SP2 totally screwed up my computer. I am staying with SP1, for now.SP2 requires updates from the manafacture of your computer. Some dont offer much help on what the updates are. Or you can get someone to do it and pay for it. NO THANKS! I wills tay with Windows XP SP1 I use a good security program with a good firewall and antivirus. I also found it hard to upload as well

Personally I've never had any security problems what so ever with XP+SP1.
