Upload/download...?

I have a question that you may all think is silly. Do you get in trouble (i.e, contacted by the RIAA, MPA, etc.) when you download a file...or allow someone to upload a file from you...?

All of the people that have been sued are those that are SHARING (that is, uploading) large amounts of mp3's. A small amount should not put you at a target, but it may. Just remember, without people sharing, there would be no such thing as file-sharing, so please share something.

But to answer your question, people who got in trouble were those that allowed someone to download from them, that is they uploaded things from their computers.

I'm pretty sure you would have to have a LARGE collection. They have bigger fish to fry then messing with some teen downloading a song. I think those commercials about file sharing are great .. "downloading music is stealing from artist" my god i would hate for britany spears to loose her gold tanning bed in her 2x million tour bus ... I would never pay 17.00 for one good song on the CD ... i feel for ppl who do.

The way I look at it, cd's cost close to 22.00 a pop ... 17.00 for the cd .. 5 to get to the store. Plus the wear/tear on ur car ....

For people like you... they made iTunes. You pay for the one song you want.. 1 dollar, and theres no wear/tear or gas to pay for on the car.
