I was just wonder as more and more as i search for stuff with google i just get linked to crap pay for this pay for that sites or sites that just link you to other crap and just try and connect to the top of google. Im fealing that too many people know how google works and how to get on the top list. What ever happened to being able to find good websites that all content free and what you want. Not all these other useless pages. So my question is are there any good webbrowsers out their. More specifically ones that censor out these mustiple website link sites and pay sites?

use a metabrowser or something, perhaps. I like to have very specific searches, using only what is necessary, and I can always find what I am looking for.
Maybe try:
metacrawler.com
clusty.com
kartoo.com
a9.com
dogpile.com
ixquick.com
NEW MSN Search (http://search.msn.com/default.aspx?FORM=MKTPG)
I like google though... it is super (and really has tons of features for looking so damned simple).
Search is something that can be done well...
Be specific and focus on what you are searching... search around the topic and find focusing words... find links that are close and look for links they provide.
Good Luck!

yeah i hear ya man. people with money always trying to find a way to make more. paying search engines to put their link at the top, so the people with less money, like us, see all the options we have of giving those people with all the money, more of our monies!!!!! it's just a vicious cycle out there, and i see it all the time in all the nooks of cranny's of today's civilization..... and i can't stand it! i try my best to support the underdog, and steer clear of big business... the downside in that is, once the underdog gets my support and makes it to the level of big business, they're not the underdog anymore! so what can we do? support all the underdogs and keep flip flopping the topdogs? varying this routine through all eternity? no. but also on the other hand, can we undermine the topdogs, and make all dogs underdogs?! no! because that would be communism. so like i said, i see it everywhere, can't have an underdog without a topdog. but anyway, i use google, it finds the stuff i need.
i hope there's a little clarity in those words, if not, oh well
<--- if your expression matches that of here wicket, i know how you feel about this

heres a great tip to using google something i do
if i am looking for something i do it these ways
"movie honey i shrunk the kids + movie reviews"
discography= blinks alone
what you need to do is change the searching habit
basically u can take control of what you want
heres another great example to become exposed to new mp3 music
mp3= dir
see what happens
cheers

hmm to be quite honest google is a great search engine
if you are looking for something in particular using quotation marks are a great way to find what you want and only what you want.
" " just put what you want inside and it will come up with results
like this one too
" p2p= zeropaid"
its more of figuring how to narrow it down this usually works
u can do it for any site you want to
say you wanna find out something about animals relating to breeding you can do a search like this
" turtles = breeding habits" and then do the search
many ways to do it
hope this helps in some weird way :)

I know the tricks of the trade for google and such but still sometimes you get a bunch of crap sites that have free and such in their info but arnt free. Its a pain in the ass. I was just wondering if there was a search engine that compleatly removes all pay sites from the selection. Or more so, and those stupid link to other site webpages im sure you know what im talking about its like a bunch of adds then theirs links to webpages. Like seriously im looking for a webpage using a search engine i dont need you links. But thanks for the advice. Im gonna look at metacrawler, ive used it before but never really paid much attention when using it. We need to recreate the internet with something in a contract making it illegal to charge for anything on the websites.

I know Kartoo has been mentioned, but I gotta give it props. I notice myself searching just for the sake of searching when I use that. Find some neat stuff in there.

We need to recreate the internet with something in a contract making it illegal to charge for anything on the websites.A wonderful idea.
Google is ok, I have noticed that G is more commercial and searches return less useful information.
The future of search is p2p. I am working on writing a search engine p2p app. Sometime in 2005 I will release something beta at Woofsearch.com.
Current tests show it will rip the shit out of Google or any other existing search engine and p2p app. Proof of concept tests were done before we started coding the main app. I am optimistic about what I am working on.
Cheers!

I found a free version of copernic pro a couple of years ago. It combines 10 search engines all in one. I use G myself nowadays, but I have friends that still swears by copernic. Though you would have to track down your own free version. http://www.copernic.com/
