Are you connected to a hub? If not choose one and connect first then you should be able to search!

Try going to settings and set your connection to passive mode

Oh yes, thanks, I thought I could search all available hubs at the same time. So one has to go from hub to hub and do searches until you find the right file. Thats alright.

Pretty cool program, this!

Glo-Searchhttp://home.hetnet.nl/~janssentjes/software/GLOSearch01Pub.zip can search multiple hubs.

give it a shot.

Sounds extremely good. I donīt know if I dare trying it, though...

Oh, thereīs an annoying thing regarding filenames. Theyre often cut off. I want to be able to see the full filename. Thats crucial sometimes. Thereīs gotta be a way.

Queuing: How do I know how many persons there are before me in a queue?

Where is the best place to get some help. I have a friend who uses Direct Connect and Kazaa, but her use of English is poor. She has recently changed ISP and since then DC and Kazaa no longer works - DC just disconnects whenever she tries to reach public hub.

My feeling is that UDP's are being blocked by her IPS's firewall. If any resolutions involve changing router settings, then forget it. Her cable provider is not interested in fixing it.

I posted this problem on another board, but they said this was the BEST place to go to for help. Where do I go from here?

Many thanks.

The hub list doesn't work for GLO-search anymore, could one of you guys post a link to the lists that are working? I'd appreciate it.

well I haven't used the public hub list in ages since they don't show all the hubs, and even the dc++ ones like the one you're talking about doesn't pick up all the hubs either or is prone to not be working. What I do when I need to find a rare file is use the glo search ver. 0.1 because I can create my own customised hub list for it with only the hubs I want to search. If you can get ahold of this version you can get a copy of a complete hub list and use that to search or make a list of favorite hubs and have it only search them.. I don't know if this helps you much but when you think about it 99% of hubs are always online anyways and the only changes in the hub list usually are new "fake" 800 or 1100 user hubs which no one likes to look at anyways since they aren't even real
