your fan stops um uh maybe windows 95 is really uncompatible with your mother board and it shuts it off for some reason.

weerd. it's "made for windows 98".
Shame it doesn't work, I wanted to fool around in DOS again.

I could be wrong thats just my guess because cpu fans plug right into the mobo, you might be able to change the settings in the bios tho. Because if that is the problem im sure theirs a setting to just make the fan spin continuously when the computer is on.

What don't you just try Debian or some other Linux distro if you feel need to exercise your command line abilities?

Change the power settings in your BIOS so that your O/S isn't set to be the controller of your fan speeds.

it may also not be related to it at all. it is quite possible that ur cpu fan may be going bad on its own and have nothing to do with what os u r using..my suggestion would be to get a new fan...they're not too cheap..i payed around $26.00 for mine..but its better than having to get a new cpu that could cost upwards of a $100.00 or more.

if your buyin a cpu for a computer you are trying to run win 95 on, chances are its a shitty computer. go to a computer store buy a new fan for about 9 bucks if it is like a p1 or somthing.

Try DosBox. It'll play games. I don't know how much else it'll do in Dos. It'll run on Windows XP Pro. I didn't read this thread closely, jusk skimmed it.
