Howdy and good morning to you all ,

I'm currently using WinMx 2.6 on a 1.7 256 RDAM Dell with WinXP installed . I was using WinMx 2.6 in a older computer before with WinME and had no problems operating WinMx on either platforms . The exception is with WinXP the Uninstall is not located in the Add/Remove program and in WinMx's folder the Uninstall Icon has a Red X across it , I tried to click on it but nothing happens . I'm figuring it must be a bug concerning v2.6 and XP . I'm thinking about upgrading to v3.3 but like to remove the v2.6 first , after reading here and elsewhere it's best to do a clean upgrade install . So can I safely just delete the WinMx files below and start from scratch ...thanks for any help .....I did a File Search and below is what came up ...

In the WinMx folder : colors-folder ( empty )
contacts.dat 1kb
library.dat 78 kb
nservers.dat 42kb
uninstall.exe ( red x across it )
clours.dat 1kb
ignore.dat 1kb
license.txt 5kb
settings.dat 6kb
winmx exe.

In the Search : WinMx c://Documents and Settings/StartMenu/Programs
WinMx (shortcut) same as above
WinMX EXE. - 030ACAC8.pf C:/Windows/Prefetch

it should be in the Add/Remove programs. But if you can't uninstall it from the winmx folder or add/remove then just highlight the winmx folder and hit the delete button.

I have XP also, it is not listed...only 3.3 is there.
