Decrypting the DB folder?

Hi all,
I opened the files inside the DB folder (Kazaa LIte) with notepad and came to the conclusion that it holds the metadata for the files. Does anyone know the exact use of all the files? Why are there items there that I haven't even downloaded (no they are not altnet recommendations)?

hmmm it is just the database, of files that your sharing using kazaa. it has a list of what your sharing on kazaa, with others. that is how people are able, to find what your sharing and then are able to download it.

I know that but why are there references to files that i don't have, let alone searched for. Secondly whats the difference between 1024 and 256 files?
