hey hope one of u knowledge-meisters can help me out, i like to try and learn it myself via google etc but have gor myself in a muddle...

game is please dont mention file names. Thanks-

i downloaded it got a bin (550mg's) and a cue (1KB?!), right. worked out that i should convert them to iso's=> so got ultra ISO did that and extracted the bin to folder, right (though when i clicked on the 1KB cue it seemed to have the same files as the bin??- didnt understand that).

anyway, so i then tried to run setup from the extracted (bin) files and, predictably, was askeed for the cd. so went and got myself a copy of virtual daemon manager v3.47 and found the orginal bin and cue files in the folder i downloaded to and tried to mount the cue file but got 'unable to mount image: cue sheet line 1- file not accessable' bollocks. so tried the bin (now iso file) and it worked, cool.

so then i had a cd-image of RoN in drive F, so i clicked on it and managed to install the game- yay! the install put a shortcut on me desktop and that launched the game- happy days.

BUT, i got half way through playing a tutorial and the game cut to desktop and i was told there'd been an 'exception error' and it said: 'gathering exception error details...', so i googled this and thought i'd better patch my game. i then rebooted and tried to install the patch but was asked to insert CD, i checked daemon- and the same bin/iso was mounted as before, no joy.

so thought i'd just try the game- now that didnt work either!- asking for the cd each time! (even when i started it from the f-drive icon in my computer).

so i'm now back to not being able to start the bloody thing at all.

am i just not using the daemon properly? should it show the image in c drive? or do i need to edit the cue file- i read something about this...?

any help would be massively appreciated. as u can see i have tried!

cheers.

oh, and just managed to solve to mounting of the cue file on daemon- edited the line in notepad to give the name of the bin (thanx to google), but the fecking game still asks for the CD!

Use Nero cd-rom burning software to burn the game on the CD, then install them on your hard drive. Now, use your NoCD crack to patch your game. If you want to mount the game on a image drive, use Nero again to create CD image from your hard drive!

Follow Digtaljunkie's advice...

This might be far fetched, but if it still doesn't work, it could be related to overheating issues with your pc! I've encountered similar problems with games! The game was overheating my pc and lead to the game game being shut down!

Just an idea....

Exact answer. Download nero from www.afterdawn.com and install it. I recommend you pay for it, it is a great package. In smart start click on burn disk image, it will ask you for the location, go to the directory, have it show all files, click on the cue, and it will make the disk. It is the easiest burning package I have seen. Then you have an original copy of the disk, and install it from there. Nero takes out the guess work in any file burning, two thumbs up from me!!

i'm back in business- i just used the RoN icon that is was in the folder of files that appeared when i extraxted the bin file, and it runs no prob!

and works even when i have nothing mounted in daemon- must be cracked. so no worries, thanks for your help guys, i already have nero 6 ultra edition and think this will do the job as u described above. it sounds much less confusing!

muchos

p.s but still bit confused re: daemon- it doesnt seem to work (or maybe its just these files). so not sure whether i'll be able to patch the game (as it asks for the cd). oh well, no biggy, i can still play tha game! thanks again

yep, charlesmelissa has the right idea... no need for you to go through all that pain. Within 4 clicks I am burning any .bin file with Nero.

4 clicks.

Alcohol 120% is good for making backups! You will also need Clony XXL to determine what copy protection scheme used by the game.
