Windows XP Reactivation

Ok well for no reason at all windows tells me that my hardware has significantly changed (the only thing thats changed is I took a 512MB memory stick out and that was like a month ago) and that it needs to reactivate. Turns out I hit my reactivation limit and now they want me to buy another copy(as if), what did they think that reformating is even more unheard of than changing hardware. Screw microsoft, anyone know a way around this?

yep, happens to me everytime I reinstall - just give them a call, talk to a guy who doesn't speak english very well, and spend about 2 minutes typing in a huge number, of course, this only works if you really did pay for your copy :)

and thank you microsoft - it's nice to know that you approve of me using the software that i paid for *rolls eyes*

You could download a Corporate edition of windows XP, and reinstall with that.

Yeah, either get the Corp. edition online, or if it's a legal copy, don't let Microsoft bullshit you with reactivation limits. Just make 'em give you another one.

yeah it is a legal copy, but dling corp edition sounds better to me. I have had enough of calling in and trying to talk to someone I can't understand.

I dont think you would have a whole lot of luck finding it on a p2p network. If you have moved on to bittorrent though you can find it at suprnova.org.
