O_o
He did a pretty good job with it. I like when he is pouring the wine out of his glass towards the end.

Jonny Cash would have never done a NIN cover!
He's a christian man!
NIN is satanic!
The song you're refering to Cash wrote that himself, that's
his song!
Think man!
PEACE!

His cover of Sting's "I hung my head" from the same album was great. It sounds better from Johnny.

The Jackal you are indeed as dumb as a brick. Johnny Cash didn't write Hurt, though he did change a few minor lyrics. Sevendust even recently covered the song and tributed it to Johnny Cash because of how awesome he performed it, but it was written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. You jackass.

The video played on vh1 for months; he also did an interview explaining his decision to do the cover of Hurt.

Much to late. I don't think he can stop being an idiot.
I really like that Cash song "When the Man Comes Around."
John 3:16 (The Bible) burn it

Yeah Cash said "crown of thorns" instead of "crown of shit". That was the only change I noticed he made.

His cover of U2's "One" is totally sweet.

Johnny Cash had some great lyrics...but the dude seriously could not sing. NIN's version of Hurt was better.

NIN's version of Hurt was better.
Of course it was better. There are many cases where the cover was better than the original, and this isn't one of them. I thought it was an interesting take on a good song.
Good cover but how is this recent news.
Recent news to me,I just found out.

You people seem to like nothing better then slam people, people have issues.
Anyway, maybe I was wrong about Jonny Cash and NIN, its just seems surprising to me because you all know he was a christian

You brought up satan and you have a skewed idea of what is satanic IMO.
Are you a joke though? You have "Fuck the RIAA" under your name and a bible passage in your sig? You seem a very conflicted person.

he was a christian
OR WAS HE?!?! dun dun dun. lol.
Yeah, this song is like almost three years old. If you didn't notice it when it came out, you must have been on a desert island someplace, or living under a huge rock.
When i first saw this post, I thought I might have fallen into some sort of time warp. Next thing I'll find out is that OutKast did a song called "Hey Ya!" - NO, THAT CAN'T BE! I'M....SHOCKED!

I think sticking it to the Greedy Corporate pigs who steal from the poor and give to the rich IS the christian thing to do. I see no conflict there sorry. Fuck the RIAA.....Fuck Satan...it's synonymous.

Alot of people are cristian who cares. Hey did you know adam sandler was jewish OH MY FRIKEN GOD! Oh and cat stevens converted himself to a muslim or something. Oh and madonna had sex with animals. See the relevance of this NO ONE CARES. Oh ya I almost forgot and micheal jackson is a child molestor and his sister is a exebitionist.

Dam you beat me too it. I prefer his cover to the orginial. somehow it seems more "soulful" but I am NOT NOT NOT a christian, just a lover of good music.

How exactly is Nine Inch Nails Satanic? Trent Reznor wrote a song about being CLOSER TO GOD!!! If that is not being a good Christian, I don't know what is.

I wouldn't say that song was about god, it was more about sex, and how having sex made him feel closer to god. Maybe he was comparing the moment of orgasm to the love of god??? I don't know.

i always thought that was about taking coke..
more so 'pretty hate machine'..i guess
NiN stuff i have always related to drug culture...
not sure what made me think that..might have to give those albums a re-listen..:)
anyway i like Johnny Cash version of hurt..its a pretty moving song
Hurt
I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear my crown of shit
on my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stain of time
the feeling disappears
you are someone else
I am still right here
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
i think johnny uses dirt or maybe its thorns instead of shit...
(in the line:I wear my crown of shit)
listened to it losts after johnnyC died
watching a doco about him on the ABC in AU as i trying to post this ..bu its not getting thru easy..
