Please explain if you can from what ive heard it limits your connections to ten?doesn't that tend to slow down your download speeds on most clients. i did not plan to get sp2 but since my mom decided to donate a pentium 3.2 80gb 512mb ram little gem to my hosting service i took it. unfortunatley it has sp2 installed. I also want to find out an easy way to make my free hosting service public or offer free email with free pop3 but ill have to keep looking for help with that lol.

There are so many rumours flying around about the whole SP2 thing, it is impossible to know.

I'm 99% sure that cjules13's team is right that the connections thing is bullcrap.

Make sure that the fiewall is correctly set up, as you would with any firewall, then you should be fine. If you are still having problems, then research it further. Don't go shoving this patch on because you think that M$ is out to get you.

The new SP2 thing that's gotta everybody's undies in a bunch is that it was first thought that SP2 would only allow 10 simultaneous connections. Well that's true but they forgot the important part: It limits it to 10 new connections per second, not total. And you shouldn't need more than 10 new per second...

And then everyone installs SP2 and says "whoa, bittorent doesn't work anymore, it must be the SP2 thingy!" But when in fact after a SP2 upgrade your default firewall configuration is changed, and that's what causes most of the difficulties... as Malicious says.
