1. I noticed there was an email icon you could set on the toolbar. I just switched from avant and couldn't find the options dealing with this in firefox. It opens up outlook (Also, how do you get rid of outlook?) which I really don't care to use. Is there a way to set it for a web-based email service?
2. I'm unable to delete one of the bookmark folders, I already had my own but one came with the browser and it won't let me delete it. Also, is there a way to set it to arrange by category (IE: Folders first and links listed after, links that aren't in any particular folder) AND alphabetically?
3. Finally, my main reason for switching was security (also loading time but mostly security) so should I really disable java, scripts, and some other things I've already forgotten?
Thanks for any help.....

Forgot to also ask this....
Are there any great plug-ins/add-ons, what are some good sites for them, and what would you recommend?

adblock.mozdev.org, my favourite plugin! Right click on an iframe, flashbanner, banner anyhting up to a single image to block. Firefox has some problems with that but mozilla co-ops well.

You can find many useful extensions and themes on Mozilla's site here http://update.mozilla.org/?application=firefox .
There is an extension there for sorting bookmarks alphabetically.

You cant get rid of Outlook if you are using Windows. But if you want to stop using outlook, just download Mozilla Thunderbird (Its their E-Mail client).
As for the bookmark folders, its a problem with previous versions. Firefor 0,8 let me delete all the bookmark folders, and when I did, the page would keep "skipping", because it was constantly searching for a bookmark folder. I had to create a new folder to stop it. Im guessing they just isolated that problem for now by not letting you delete all the folders.
To arrange bookmarks, click Bookmarks on the bar on top, and selet "Manage bookmarks". In there, you can arrange the bookmarks however you want, plus add seperators for better visual accuracy (Helps if wasted lol :) ).
As for disabling Java and scripts, it really depends if you use them or not. If you play games that are on websites, then you may need java, or scripts. What it really boils down to is if you are visiting shadier sites (Warez, crack sites, etc...). If you visit those routinely, it would be best to disable those features to avoid getting viruses.
Anyway, thats it. Welcome to ZP :)

java script was designed that it wouldn't be a security flaw - scripts can't read files or writes files to your hard drive
as for java, well, yeah, once again, it depends on what you do. I've never really had any problems with java enabled, but, i could just have gotten lucky. The biggest security flaw is ActiveX controls, and they aren't supported under Firefox (thank goodness - they cause more problems under IE then they help)

Yes you can, got to
control panel>add remove programs>add/remove windows components>[uncheck]outlook express
also you should install the "web developer" plugin for firefox
as for javascript, I go into advanced and only check "raise/lower window" and "change images" with those checked websites work fine. I have Web developer installed so if i run into a pagebomb like lastmeasure from the GNAA all the pages stay in one place instead of dancing around the screen, then using web developer right click>web developer>disabele>disable javascript in order to stop the windows from popping up then close them all before turning scripts back on.

I guess there are still some things to be fixed when it comes to the bookmarks, I'm using 1.0 PR. I go into manage and sort everything the way I want it but when I exit that nothing's changed in the drop down list.
I can't say that I really visit any bad sites but when searching the web for something I get alot of 'do you want to install and run, etc....' on some sites. I just click no and move on though.
Anyway, I got about 8 extensions already, guess I can spend today figuring them out :)
Thanks for the welcome and all the help....
