Ok, ever since I installed SP2 on my machine, shareaza almost stopped D/L!
I was used to a 60-100 KB/sec rate and now it won't go any higher than 10!
I have the newest shareaza (2.1) and I also patched my system's TCPIP.SYS file and so I don't get any more of these "too many tcpip" (4226) events.
I'm downloading 10-12 files with LOTS of sources and it's on for days continuously.
What can I do??
Should i try a different program? I really like shareaza.
Any thoughts?
Thanx.

Uninstall SP2.I agree with him. I hate SP2. It was automaticly downloaded. No one ever told me about the driver updates etc. HP was no help They told me cause it was so new I should have waited. SP2 crashed my system so I had to do a Total System Recovery. I got no connectivity and HP just said stay with SP1 for the time. They gave me a website to go to fot the updates but didnt totally know which one to put in. They said it was Microsofts problem and I called them and they told me to go back to HP. So screw both of them. I will stay with XP SP1 that offers no connectivity limitations. When I went to uninstall SP2 I still had problems and Microsoft told me to do a clean restore to get SP2 totally out of my computer.By this i mean total recocvery U lost one thousaned songs cause of SP2 It is garbage.

You should have avoided SP2 in the first place . I havent installed it and im glad I havent, I have heard nothing but bad things. Stick to SP1 if you want to keep downloading stuff.

Your best bet would be to check the Sharaza forums. Im sure they will have SP2 well covered.

aight all over again
sp2 puts a half open connection limit, you can get past that limit of if u apply that patch and set it upto 1000 or so http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

reboot and shareaza will work fine

cheers
stick with sp2, its good

SP2 is basically just a security update for windows XP. So if you have a decent Firewall and Antivirus program installed e.g Norton, McAfee etc. there's no need to install SP2. Whats the point in patching a patch? Sounds kinda pathetic!
